On the lap top ATIH 2012 and the ATIH 2011 on the desktop. from the lap top once trying to access shared staff I was getting the nightmare error: "Not enough server storage is available to process this command", tried all the possible values for IRPStack Size on the desktop AND on the laptop. Guess what: once in the forum reading about Acronis creating problems I unistalled it from the desktop. I'm curious to read the answer I'll get from Acronis support.
These error messages on a computer, which we will call computer A, can indicate the IRPStack Size bug on the other machine, the server that has the share, which we will call computer B.
Go to that other computer, B, open the event log, and check for event ID 2011.
The problem was that while from the desktop I was able to open shared directories on the laptop, I didn't the other way round. THANKS for the hint I was cloning a new drive, so I installed Acronis to do that. After I finally found this site, I was able to get things going again.
For me, this problem was solved only by uninstalling Acronis -- as soon as I did that everything was fine. After upgrading my main PC/Server running Win XP HE SP2 to XP HE SP3, the primary C: HDD and thumb drive were still reachable when shared.
If you have such a case, please report your findings here. It does not mention Windows XP, but applies to XP as well.
